Just to reassure everybody, files are backed up, but TextPad 8 uses Windows Restart Manager to do it. Also nobody is reporting back how version 7 and 8 differ in this behavior. Maybe files ARE auto-saved, but their file dates are preserved. is the only problem the file date or the file's content? Went back to 7.6.2 and files are autosaving as normal. Checked that my autosave was set to backup every minute, but the files' time stamps were way out of date!
